A Tale of Two Hendries

Now - while I don't pretend to like the little elfin troublemaker (Lee), I do and always have thought that being disciplined for celebrating a goal is a waste of time and utterly idiotic. On the other hand it's an odd irony that on the same day Colin (no relation) has had his ban reduced for nearly killing a San Marino player in a (pretty much) non competitive game.

As reproted yesterday Edgar Davids has been found guilty of using banned substances and has recieved an indefinate ban from the FIGC (Italian football federation). It will be a blow to Juve, who are second and hoping to catch up with Roma in Serie A.

Good news for the rest of the Premiership, Gary Neville looks set to sign a new 6 year deal with United meaning for that at least another half-decade the English Champions will have a quarter dodgy defence.

Claudio Ranieri has denied Chelsea are after Marseille defender William Gallas, while a 'we'll match any other offer' message has been sent from the club to West Ham regarding their want-away midfielder Frank Lampard.

And Finally..... Terry Venables has announced he will announce his decision on his future tomorrow. Probably signalling he'll be off and no doubt Bryan Robson will follow leaving another vacant Premiership job..
