Soon BT Will Come
And then maybe this site will be updated a little more often than the shambolic / inexcuseable / disgracefully infrequent visits by my good self. As you will are no doubt aware (if you read the last news item) I've been having problems with my phone line so no internet. Now I've started work as well so I have next to no free time and when I am free there's no bleedin' phone line! Just bear with me for now, I promise lots of updates as soon as possible.
I'll stop whinging now and get down to footie as usual.....
Paulo Wanchope has been hailed as one of the finest strikers on the world stage by the South American media after his 5 goals in the Copa America. Man City look set to lose him to Boca Juniors for 5m. If you didn't detect a hint of disbelief/sarcasm in those sentances, you should have.
Frank Le Boeuf has confirmed he will move to Marseille for around 2m, does he like Vialli or Ranieri?
"I would like to thank three persons chairman Ken Bates, managing director Colin Hutchinson and my first coach Ruud Gullit."
Ohh, handbags.
Bruce Grobbelaar is going to launch an appeal to try and clear his dirty, matchfixing name. He has been granted the right to appeal to the House of Lords and will attempt to later this year.
Italian former-giants Sampdoria and smaller club Salernitana look as though they will miss the Serie B season this year. The clubs have not been given admittance to the league due to excessive debt. They are lodging a legal appeal but their fates should be known for definate within the next few weeks.
And finally.... after a 2-0 loss to Honduras in the Copa America, the worlds most revered footballing nation is out of the continents major, if devalued, international competition. And the one piece of information I'm happy to have learned from reading about the experience? The Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's nickname is........... Big Phil.
