Come on England
After the England U21's demolished the young mexicans 3-0 with young Arsenal winger/striker Jermaine Pennant picking up the man of the match award, it's time for the big boys to have a go. Gerrard looks as though he'll miss the game with (surpirse) a back injury and with Ray Parlour out too it looks like an all Man United central midfield unless Sven has the courage to pick Carrick or Cole (Joe).
Mexico really shouldn't pose a great problem with only two of the team under contract to a club and one of their best players, Jesus Arelliano not even turning up to the airport (due to toothache). My prediction for the England starting line up....

Sol Away
It looks as though Sol Cambell's talk of staying put was a load of nonsense as he has refused an alleged 80,000 a week contract offer from Spuds. I don't know how he could have expected them to offer him more money but that's what it looks like he wanted. Either that or he never really wanted to stay in the first place. The question is where will he go? United have always been interested, a move of club - but not house - to Arsenal is a possibility, Liverpool are said to be interested as well as the host of Spanish and Italian clubs. It should be interesting to watch anyway. I don't rate him that highly myself so as far as I'm concerned he can go where he likes.
In some European news FC Twente have won the Dutch Cup beating PSV 4-3 on penalties, Twente goalkeeper Sander Boschker saved three consecutive penalties after they went 3-1 down in the shootout. Fiorentina have beaten Parma 1-0 in the first leg of the Italian cup, a Paolo Vanoli header giving them a slender lead to take into the second leg.
